Nishi Jin was the gorgeous commercial area which had continuous coming and going. The area of Omiya Imadegawa was called particularly "Sen-ryo-ga-tsuji" in the middle of Edo period.
"Sen-ryo-ga-tuji" means the area of 1,000 ryo. A ryo (Japanese: 両) was a gold piece.
People in Nishi Jin dealt in raw silk and textile mainly, and there were a lot of thread shops and textile dealer around the Nishi Jin area. People dealt with more than 1,000 ryo of thread, raw silk in one day.

The 5th traditional culture festival Nishi Jin Senryogatsuji will be held on 2007.9.23. .
The 4th traditional cultural festival Nishij Jin Senryogatsuji was ended successfully on 2006.9.23.
It was blessed with fine weather and had about 6,600 people.
